AkintondeWhen I started Ujamaa Construction Inc. (UCI) in 2002, I wanted to be a part of a working organization that paid an equal amount of attention to social responsibility, profitability and citizenship within the Chicagoland and near suburban communities. We are a small customer-oriented business that believes that the size of the project should not determine the quality of the construction service.

UCI is an MBE City of Chicago certified company with deep roots within our community. Our focus is to provide affordable and dependable general construction and construction management to urban projects. We also share a commitment to social responsibility and we participate in several charity and community programs.

To our customers, we provide an attentive and detailed construction management service, sensitive to an ever changing environment, while staying flexible and creating attractive solutions to the construction process. It remains a pleasure to continue to serve their ever changing needs. We utilize a pool of accomplished subcontractors to complete work in a professional and timely manner. UCI is signatory with the Carpenter’s and Laborer’s Union and self-performs carpentry trade work to ensure quality control standards, budgets and schedules are maintained.
